Super Jack!

I was searching online one day... at ETSY specifically, for ideas on how to decorate "capes" for a lady at work, who handed the job to me, because she heard I was the creative one.
Well, needless to say, I found the cutest cape at Pip and Bean, and wished I was a kid again!

Since I couldn't really get the cape for myself, I thought the next perfect recipient would be
my 2 1/2 year old nephew, Jack!

I was so excited to give it to him!

And He was so excited to get it... sorta...
We had to go over his new "super powers" when he has it on!
He's a huge "Bucky" fan - it's genetic!

Then he had to make sure everyone saw it was a "Bucky" Cape.
(If you don't understand "Bucky," that is Jack's way of referring to
The Ohio State University - Buckeyes)

Then we worked on "flying!"

He's totally got it down!

I'm positive it's his new favorite accessory... well, when he wants to fly anyways!

Now, after I received the cape and gifted it to my adorable nephew, my best friend, Christina, totally wanted one! The only problem was, the etsy shop I found it on, doesn't make the cape she so desires!
Okay, I should make things clear, she didn't want it for herself, but for her boyfriends little (monkey) boy, and the cape he would want to tote would not be that of OSU, but of Tennessee (boo!).
Her first idea was then to ask my mom (not me, because she knows I'm too crazy busy, and my mom rocks) to hook her up!
Let's see how that is going:

Oh, I see the "T" on the table to be added soon!

(My mom doesn't always where dresses with her capes, she had a wedding to attend today!
But I do love how the cape is so "un-purposefully" hiding her face!)

Hopefully it turns out great and there is one more Super Powered Flying boy out there soon! We are surely going to make more of these... and maybe a tutorial will take place!
You up for that mom? :)

Keeps getting better!

Alright, so I'm finally getting this figured out! I got a better (handmade looking) background from Shabby Blogs site and created my own header with the help of fun things like the green circles and the text parentheses from Crystal Wilkerson. I'm really thinking this is starting to come together and now I can focus more on fun posts, rather than trying to get it to not look so square!

Let me know what you think!?!

P.S. Now I need to make a signature!!

Columbus I Heart Faces Photowalk

Actually figured out how to do the picture thing, so here are some pictures on my computer right now!

I recently took the opportunity to participate in the I Heart Faces Photowalk! I was part of 1 out of 20 walks all over the country. The walk I did was here, in Columbus, but specifically in a small area knows as German Village. Cute, old houses, as you can see here!
Tons of character... and boy did I get some pictures! I'd share them all here, but that would be a bit much! I did put them on my flicker account, but I don't quite know how to share that with you yet!
We were asked to pick our 3 favorite pictures from the day, to try and win some great things that were donated to I Heart Faces for the participants.

Below are the photos I chose (the first 3) and the photos I highly debated on choosing instead:

1. This was a photo of a metal fence post from straight above. It just kinda seemed neat and unique.

2. This was of the brick roads in the village, one of which had a huge dip in it,
that I just couldn't walk past.

3. This was probably my favorite, just because you wouldn't guess I got it from walking around a brick road old village. It was simply of a drainage pipe coming down the side of someones house. I really like how hard and soft it looks all at the same time!

Runner up #1. This picture was a very small walk way between two houses. I really liked how it looked so warn but also as though it hadn't been touched in some time.

Runner up #2. This was simply a brick wall (not only do they have brick roads, but brick walls many places too) outside of someones house. I took one photo where the bricks were blurry, one where the vines were blurry, and this one where I managed to get a little of both... kinda fun!

Now, granted I didn't win... I'm not a sore looser, I really liked the photo that won, of a cute little girl who modeled for us for the day. I simply enjoyed being able to be part of it! Then after the walk we stopped for lunch at Schmidt's , and if you haven't been there, you need to go, for some traditional German food - trust me, I lived in Germany for 3 months! It's authentic!

If you get there, you must get a cream puff! Yum!
I hope you liked my pictures... I'm gonna keep taking them, until I get better, and win! :-)

Pathetic, I tell ya!

How silly am I? I posted my first post before completely deciding on what my "official" blog name would be... But, I think now I have it, and will soon start to share my blog love, at least with family and close friends. I've got to figure out how to make it look, not so "square" before I share it with anyone beyond that!
BUT...If anyone finds this and is a so-called expert at the blogosphere, any help would be awesome... or even a point in the right direction for that matter!
I guess one thing i need to figure out is how to put a picture on my post, so I can start showing you my 'goods'! hahaha! I also remembered a few other great handmade treats I can get to posting, and practicing... ohhhh so excited!
So, this is my official call for blog help, and my hey there, and hi to anyone I share this with today! Thanks for coming!
By the way, I need to figure this all out by the time I get my winnings... I'd put a link to the blog I won from, but I'm not even sure how to do that, so I will share that another day! :-)
Enjoy!

Here goes...

So, I've wanted to start a blog for some time... and well, my life is pretty packed! I haven't felt like I'd be able to give it the dedication I feel it deserves, so I've put it off and put it off. Now, I still don't think I have the time it takes to make a great blog, but I have to stop coming up with excuses and start somewhere, right?
I come from a family of pretty creative ladies, so it's kinda in my blood. I love to do random crafts, take photo's with my dslr, so I'll be sharing that side of me here! I got married back in October and made nearly everything (with some help from my mom!) for the day... I will surely share some of those things here, and how I've taken what I did for that day and made it work for things after that day... I'd hate to have it all go to waste!
My younger sister is around too, so maybe she'll contribute a creative post or two as well!
For now I guess I prioritize my blog post ideas and start posting!
Happy reading!
