My ETSY Dream List

Have I mentioned, I love giveaways!
Especially if you get to choose what you get... can you imagine!
Craft Gossip is giving away a $100 shopping spree to Etsy!

All I have to do is find the things that I'd purchase and not go over $100,
post them here, and keep my fingers crossed!
Keep yours crossed with me,
or create your own wish list on your blog or facebook by the end of the day today!

My ears are naked right now, I've been dreaming of these for months!

At work my office is moving and i will now have my own office, with a door and 4 walls,
I'd love to decorate with this!

I love vintage anything... I just saw this today and had to add it!
I'm trying to be more grown up and accesorize more!

Um, hello, this is me!

And this made me think of my mother-in-law right away!

For a total of $99, this is my wish list of Etsy finds!
It's sooo hard to narrow it down!

What are you favorite finds on Etsy?

I heart faces - Photojournalism

I decided to try my hand at submitting for
weekly challenge.

This week the theme is Photojournalism

Every year, friends of ours have a toga themed party, where, of course, everyone dresses up, but then chariot races occur.
The photos above show the night in progression.
Photo 1 (top left): The making of the chariots by the host of the party.
Photo 2 (top right): The chariots done and ready to go!
Photo 3 (bottom left): The chariots in motion.
Photo 4 (bottom right): The chariots after some good use, still going strong.
Photo 5 (center): The proud winners of the races.

Let me know how you think I did!

A big thanks to the 'Slackman', who always throws a great party!

What a week this has been!

Life has gotten ahead of me again! I'm back in class after a 3 week break, where I was able to keep up with the 30 day journal until last week, when I pathetically stopped... Sorry! At work things have gotten slightly chaotic and I dread only more of that will come before it gets better, because my entire office is moving to a new building on Thursday! My supervisor has been put in charge of the move for the employees, and although I have other things to do, I have also been named her assistant in this move. All I can say is, I love her dearly, but I cannot wait until this move is over!
I've tried to put any free time I can dig up into making a great {handmade} thing to giveaway on the blog that is using me as her first advertisement, so keep a look out at Unexpected Elegance for that giveaway!

I had a busy week! Monday night, my brother and sister in-law, and there AMAZING little boy came over for a simple dinner, I then headed to Flannagan's for my sand volleyball game.
I love volleyball!

Not me in the picture (it's a lot darker when I play!), but that's volleyball at Flannagan's!

Then Tuesday, I started class... I get home from work, if I'm lucky, at 6:25pm, only to hop online and start my interactive online "Using Technology in the Classroom" class right away. It should be interesting!

Wednesday is always family night with my husbands family at my parent-in-laws.
They provide dinner... *bonus*
and we get to hang out with them and my awesome nephew!

Thursday consisted of hurrying through my day at work, so that I could get to dinner on time, eat and get down town to see Wicked!

It was amazing! Even if we were 3 rows from the very top...
Goal: Go see Wicked again, with better seats! (With my mom and sister!)

Then Friday, I was invited to a friends for a fun girls night! Yay! I love girls nights!
We played games, ate great food, drank some wine and chatted (about boys...like we were 13 again!) for several hours, until we I realized I'm getting old and needed to head home!

Thanks ladies, lets do it again sometime soon!

Well, lets see how this week pans out... hopefully more time for a few more posts!
For sure a tutorial of how to make the thing that will be in the giveaway!

Day 22 - Journal

Day 22: A Youtube Video

I just couldn't resist this one. I don't watch things on youtube too often,
but if I do I tend to search for videos of kids...
This video of The Marshmellow Test totally shows the "struggles" sometimes of being a child!

Day 22: A website

Aside from the ever popular Etsy, and my constant eyeballing Google Reader,
this site below is pretty freakin' cool! Check it out!

Day 21 - Journal

Day 21: A Recipe

As a kid, I apparently received this amazing cook book with great recipes for kids.
I even stared the one I really liked and remember eating/trying some of thing things in this lovely copied note card recipe book!

I figured, since they are such simple "recipes" I would provide you with more than one!

This drink was to die for, as a child... would I try it now...eh, probably not!

Okay, so I love apples and I double love cheese whiz, and this was one of my favorites if my memory serves me right... but, really, what was I thinking??

Now I had to add this one,
because it is still a staple in our house for lazy nights.
Pair it with some mac and cheese and you are set!

Do you remember any childhood recipes that you can share?

Day 20 - Journal

Day 20: A hobby of yours

Recently my favorite hobby
(outside of loving crafts and photography)
has been spending time, playing and taking walks with my dog, Stevie.
We got him right between New Years and Christmas this past year,
so this summer has been our first real opportunity to get outside
and get some good playing in!

He loves running in my dads backyard.
And posing for pictures!
We both love people watching.
He also loves accessorizing.

How exciting!

I was just spending my Sunday evening sorting through my Google Reader
and came across a post from Unexpected Elegance that had my name in it?!?
Now, I have to be honest, I love giveaways on blogs, so I enter several a week,
but the giveaway on this blog was for ad space
Now, my blog is for sure just in it's beginning stages,
but having an ad on a blog that lots more people read...
AWESOME!!
I'm really looking forward to gaining new followers, so hopefully my blog will take off!
Check out Unexpected Elegance if you have a chance!
And thanks for checking me out!

Day 19- Journal

Day 19 - A talent of yours

Okay, so this is like my super weird talent...
(because I think I'm a decent photographer, crafter, teacher, etc.)

I figured out I could do this while I was in college, bored I guess...

These are my feet:

I can do this, without touching them with my hands...

Don't quite see it... check out this picture!

It's kinda like praying with my feet... sorta.

I start out with my pinky toes and work my way up...Try it!

Needless to say, I've been referred to as "monkey toes" before,
probably because I can do this, write with my feet, and pick up just about anything with my toes.

Day 17 - Journal

Day 17: An art piece

Okay, so most everyone has seen a Mail Pouch Tobacco Barn, or if in Ohio a Bicentenial Barn, but this barn my dad showed me is all it's own... and very unlike any other barns out there.
Claude Ruston Baker turned his typical barn into a work of art.

As you are pulling down the road, this is the side facing the direction of the road we came from.
The Beatles in the later years, Janis and some other guy (don't remember who they said he was) and my favorite part of the whole barn: (see picture 2 for close up)

The old man and his cute dog posting their Woodstock themed sign!

Be prepared, kinda scary one below... I heard they have covered him up and added someone different since I was there last!

And of course, my husband, Dave as a new member of Pink Floyd, as he says!

Even the tank out back is painted as the yellow submarine! Too fun!

Have you seen any unique works of art? Feel free to share!
